    CIT PROGRAM

The CIT (Counselor-In-Training) Program is for teens ages 17-18 who are interested in becoming camp counselors. The CITs have their own cabin group, but during the day they are assigned to different cabin groups to observe and assist the counselors. The CITs meet once a day and do some initiative and team-building games, and other exercises to help them become great counselors. There are two CIT Coordinators that lead and help the group. The CITs are also responsible for planning and leading one or two activities during camp.

The teens must go through a screening process in order to become a CIT. This is to ensure that only teens that are seriously considering becoming a counselor are in the program. The following requirements must be completed before being accepted into the program: • An application filled out completely and returned by the due date. • An interview with the CIT Coordinators. • Complete a CPR Certification course. • Attend the CIT Training Weekend

Based on the above 5 items, teens will be selected to participate in the CIT Program. After a CIT is selected, they must attend an 8-hour manditory Staff/CIT Training, and report to camp 24 hours in advance.

The CIT Program is hard work, but it is also a lot of fun. The CITs often get together throughout the year for hikes, comedy shows, or paint ball war.
